Henley YMCA FC
We are delighted to be a founder member of The Henley Football Partnership, which is a Standard Charter Community Club, affiliated to Oxfordshire FA.
Currently, we provide a range of facilities and activities for the community, which include housing for young people and an active living centre with a diverse set of classes. We also offer floodlit five-a-side football, men’s and ladies’ senior football, youth events and provision for those with learning disabilities. We run three football teams:
Henley YMCA FC
Reading Sunday League
YMCA United FC
Reading Sunday League
Henley YMCA Casuals
For men aged 16 and over with a learning disability offering regular friendly matches and taster sessions.
Our football facilities include a full-size grass pitch and a state of the art Soccer Real 60 floodlit five-a-side football pitch, which is available for hire.
History
The YMCA in Henley was founded in 1857 and in 2007 celebrated 150 years of its transforming work with young people.
Over the years, its work has spread across a number of sites across Henley, providing activities and meeting places for young people, as well as sports and leisure activities for the wider community. These facilities are home to a diverse range of activities that reflect the YMCA’s mission to promote the development of the whole person in body, mind and spirit. There are exciting plans to expand and develop Henley YMCA’s work with young people and the community over the next few years.
